Throughout October, in support of Breast Cancer Awareness month, Karen Betts and her Elite Team of Permanent Cosmetics Artists will be ‘turning pink’, by sporting pink gloves and masks while carrying out permanent cosmetics treatments in clinic.

One of Karen’s Elite Artists, Vikki Banton, has also dyed her hair pink to further show her support throughout this month’s campaign to increase awareness of the disease.

As well as turning pink, Karen will be venturing to Jersey, and performing breast restoration treatments at Jersey General Hospital, in a bid to help breast cancer patients regain their confidence.

Through a medical tattooing procedure, Karen will give her clients a life-like areola using specialist light and dark shading techniques to create a 3D illusion. This procedure helps replace what may have been removed in cancer treatment procedures, such as a mastectomy.

Karen said;

“It’s shocking that one 1 in 8 women will develop breast cancer in their lifetime.  The treatments I perform are only a small factor of recovery. It’s amazing that permanent cosmetics and medical tattooing can offer these women more self-confidence.”

Karen is a firm believer in ‘The Gift of Confidence’, and is passionate about using her specialist skills to support different charities.
