On the 13th October my partner Dave and I set off to beautiful Antalya in Turkey. I was especially excited for this trip because we were headed to the Royal Permanent Makeup International Mediterranean Congress and Championship. I had been invited to be an expert guest speaker! My presentation focused on Male Alopecia Brows and Medical Lips – two areas I’m passionate about.
The Royal PMU International Mediterranean Congress
This first congress in Turkey was organised by Akademi Royal and Royal PMU. It brought together permanent makeup professionals, PMU brands and the top influencers in the industry.
After we landed, we managed to soak up a little bit of gorgeous sunshine (along with a cocktail or two!) Shortly after, I headed back to my laptop to refine my presentation for the next day.
The Congress was being held in the stunning Granada Luxury Belek. It’s a 5* resort that is just the epitome of Turkish luxury! Even the set up inside the venue was incredible – I felt like I was at the MTV Awards!
Never stop learning
We kicked off with an amazing presentation and brow demonstration by the fantastically talented Alan Spadone. Then followed a whole host of incredible speakers from all around the world. They shared knowledge on topics from Nano Lips to Pigment Removal. I couldn’t wait to get on stage the next day and speak to such an amazingly talented group of professionals. It was a real honour.
I feel proud to be able to share my knowledge and experiences in Male Alopecia Brows and Medical Lips. I’m passionate about helping each of my clients, but there’s something special about being able to work with medical tattoo clients. These clients have often been through a traumatic experience or an illness that has stripped them of their confidence. Therefore, being able to restore that is an incredible gift. It really is life changing.
Of course, the rest of the conference went by all too quickly. But, I got to meet some of my fabulous industry friends and make some lovely new ones too. As a result, I also learned so much from my fellow permanent makeup artists (never stop learning – that’s my motto!). After the congress, I was given a certificate of appreciation and a beautiful trophy to thank me for speaking. Such a lovely keepsake for me to look back on.
A little ‘us’ time
I have very little ‘me & him time’ with Dave due to my busy schedule right now. Because of that, we decided to stay behind in Turkey and explore! We’ve travelled to some of the most beautiful places on earth during our time together. Antalya is certainly on the list – we found some stunning places. Most noteworthy, Manavgat Waterfall which was stunning.
Back home again
I’m back in my beloved Yorkshire now. It’s time to get ready to travel to my Harley Street Clinic to meet my lovely clients. So, I hope you enjoyed hearing about my trip and seeing a few photographs I took along the way! Finally, would you like to sign up to my email newsletter so you never miss out on my news?
